We are pleased to inform you that vacancies for housemanship placements in federal institutions will be updated on the MDCN portal on Monday, 11th May, 2026 @ 9.00a.m.. All interested applicants intending to serve in federal hospitals are encouraged to check the portal for available slots.
REGISTRATION ON MDCN HOUSEMANSHIP PORTAL
Please be advised that upon the receipt of your provisional registration certificate after the induction ceremony, you must create your profile on the Housemanship portal (www.housemanship.mdcn.gov.ng). This will grant you access to apply for housemanship positions at any of the 48 Federal training institutions nationwide, under the management of the MDCN.
Note that prospective house officers are required to ensure that they obtain their certificate of provisional registration and valid annual practicing licence that will last through the period of their housemanship.
It is important to refrain from directly contacting or sending application letters to Federal institutions and to MDCN, either personally or through proxies (even parents), as this is considered a contravention under the Centralized Housemanship Placement System. Such actions may result in denial of access to the portal, as they contravene existing policies.
Important Note:
This update is strictly for the 48 federal hospitals that are approved for housemanship placement under the centralised system.
Each hospital has an approved number of slots for doctors based on parameters required for training.
If a hospital of your choice is not showing, it is because no vacancy exists in that hospital.
There are 84 non-federal hospitals where housemanship placements are available. Applicants are advised to directly approach these institutions for further information on available opportunities.
On commencement at a non-federal hospital, you are required to indicate the hospital on the portal.
