The MDCN, the medical governing council of Nigeria, has not officially released a date yet for the 2026 MDCN examination. However, based on previous years, the MDCN examination takes place annually. Before 2024, the examination took place biannually. However, in 2024 and 2025, there was only one examination period. The same is expected for this year.
Based on records from recent years, the MDCN examination will likely take place on any of May/June/July/August/September.
It is important that, as a prospective candidate for this examination, you begin preparing early in terms of clinical practice, academic study, and financial readiness.
